The April 13, 2013 issue of the Journal of the Medical Association (JAMA) should have raised a media firestorm and public outrage, but did not because the issue is too complex to reduce to short sound bites for today’s news media. The issue is that in our overly complex health care payment system poor quality care can be rewarded by higher provider payments. Here is the article:
